The classes include:
- Small class size - maximum of 6 dogs
- Google Classroom class notes, with video instructions and a private online training journal - no more searching for papers!
- Lesson notes will be in stages so each handler/dog team can work at their own pace, building confidence.
- Six 1 to 1.5-hour classes
- Google Classroom platform to post videos and ask questions between lessons.
- Dogs will need to be crated for some much needed down time during the lessons. Please bring a crate for your dog. We can learn a lot by watching and helping other teams in the class. If you don't have one, we can arrange one for you.
- A variety of treats, including high-value treats like steak, chicken, and/or cheese, and low-value treats like kibble and store-bought treats.
- A variety of toys, and yes, squeakies and food toys are allowed.
- A hungry dog, delay their supper till after class.
- A way to tie your leash to your waist, like wearing a belt. Being "hands-free" helps in training.
- A chair for yourself (optional).
- Please ensure that your dog's vaccinations are up-to-date.
- An area to practice at home, including at least 2 jumps, 2 x 2 weaves (these can be stick-in-the-ground fence posts), and a travel plank/mat. Please see the Training Equipment page. Some of these items are available for purchase from Jedi Agility.
- A willingness to use our online learning system, Google Classroom. I will be glad to help you get set up. You will be sent an invitation link once registered.
- A positive attitude and a desire to have fun with your dog, training them 5 days a week for 20-30 minutes.
